Three-day old baby abandoned at Government Hospital

Goaso, (B/A) May 5, GNA- A three-day old baby girl believed to have been abandoned by her mother was found near the Goaso Government Hospital at Goaso in the Asunafo District of Ashanti.

Narrating the incident to the Ghana News Agency, Madam Janet Anafu, a Midwife at the hospital said two of her co-workers, Miss Mary Asunta and Victoria Benewaa, who were on duty at that time, heard a baby wailing persistently and therefore decided to find out what might be wrong with it.

Madam Anafu said her colleagues found to their utter dismay, a bouncing baby girl carefully wrapped-up in a piece of cloth and placed at a point near the hospital’s fence ostensibly for it to be found without difficulty.

Madam Anafu said the Goaso Government Hospital has since been caring for the baby while the Goaso Police had been informed and are investigating.
