Ellembelle NPP to petition Chief of Staff

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) constituency chairman for Ellembelle, Samuel Akinya, has indicated that he and his executives are preparing to seek the intervention of the Western Regional Minister and the Chief of Staff over some confusion that rocked the constituency delegates’ conference over the weekend.

The constituency failed to conclude its delegates’ conference following the invasion of the event by some macho men who disrupted the event, forcing delegates to leave the venue.

The NPP at the moment is conducting its constituency delegates’ conference to elect constituency executives across the country.

Speaking on the development at the Ellembelle constituency in an interview with Chief Jerry Forson, host of Ghana Yensom, on Accra100.5FM on Monday June 26, Mr Akinya said: “The macho men were brought there by Mr Kwasi Bonsu who failed in quest to become DCE.

“Because of the issues that led to his inability to become DCE he thought he would be attacked and so he brought those macho men along to the conference.

“But we have no problem with him, his name was presented for DCE but he rejected it and said he had got an offer at Ghana Gas.”

The Acting Regional Chairman, Francis Ndede Siah, has, however, denied that macho men stormed the event. He said the event was attended by party executives and members only.
