DCE commends political parties

New Edubiase (Ash), May 2, GNA – Mr Dominic Yeboah, Adansi East District Chief Executive, has commended political parties in his district for playing important roles during the registration exercise and the current photo-taking exercise.

He said, during the registration exercise, he observed that the major political parties in the district – – the New Patriotic Party (NPP), National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the Convention People’s Party (CPP) asked their agents to embark on house-to-house education on the importance of the exercise.

Mr Yeboah, who was briefing the Ghana News Agency on the photo taking exercise after touring some polling centres in the district, pointed out that the house-to-house education embarked upon by the parties encouraged more people to register and that their efforts helped the New Edubiase constituency to record about 94.8 percent eligible registered voters.

The DCE said he was impressed about the turn-out for the photo-taking exercise.

He, however, appealed to the Electoral Commission to make provision for students who registered during the holidays but have to go back to school to have their photographs taken.
