Ohene-Kena sure of NDC victory in December elections

Koforidua, April 30, GNA – The Eastern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress(NDC), Mr Fred Ohene-Kena has assured members of the party that the party is going to win the December 2004 elections .

“The signs are on the wall for all to see”, he said.

Mr Ohene-Kena gave the assurance at a meeting of the Eastern Regional Executive with constituency executives of the party in the region at Koforidua on Thursday.

He said the people of Ghana now appreciate the good works of the NDC and are prepared to vote back the party into power in the face of the failure of the “wicked agenda of the New Patriotic Party (NNP) to use falsehood to discredit the leadership of the NDC during their four years in government”.

Mr Ohene-Kena said developments has proved that the NDC is not corrupt as the NPP had wanted Ghanaians to believe and pursued a more humane policies and programmes than the NPP which had placed their individual and personal interest above that of the national. He said the NDC would pursue a campaign based on the truth and would assure the people what is good for the country and the party could fulfil.

The Regional Secretary of the party, Mr Anthony Gyampo said the party want its primaries to elect the Parliamentary Candidates to be very transparent and fair to all the candidates involved.

He explained that, it is only transparency and fairness that would safeguard the unity of the party after the primaries.

The Regional Organiser of the party urged constituency executives of the party to co-opt more people to support them to do the work and explained that, the success of their organization would depend on their ability to utilize all human resources of the party on the ground. April 30-04
