Jon Benjamin will be missed – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has lauded the outgoing British High Commissioner to Ghana, Jon Benjamin, for further deepening Ghana’s relations with the United Kingdom during his stay in Ghana.

Nana Akufo-Addo noted that Mr Benjamin would be missed by Ghanaians for his keen interest in Ghanaian socio-political life unlike any other High Commissioner that has been to the country.

Mr Akufo-Addo said this when Mr Benjamin paid a farewell courtesy call on him at the Flagstaff House on Tuesday, 20 June 2017.

Mr Akufo-Addo gave an open invitation to Mr Benjamin and said he could visit the country any time he so desired.

Nana Akufo-Addo hoped the new High Commissioner Iain Walker will follow the steps of Mr Benjamin and further enrich the good relations between the two countries.

On his part, Mr Benjamin said his stay had been memorable and exciting and thus he was sad to be leaving.

Mr Walker takes over from Mr Benjamin in August 2017.
