‘Saint’ Rawlings should resign from NDC if we’re corrupt – Alhaji Sani

Former President and founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Jerry John Rawlings has been dared to prove his innocence of corruption in the party he made against its leadership.

“He must prove his innocence of the corruption allegations he has been trumpeting all this while. …he must be forced out as founder and a member if he says we current crop of the party leadership we corrupt”, party stalwart Alhaji Mohammed Sani admonished him.

“He is the founding father so if we are corrupt he has to be number one person people should point figures at”, the former Ashanti Regional Vice Chairman of the party stated on a local radio station

“He cannot escape truly if we are corrupt as he also alleges” he told Kofi Asante Enning host of Nhyria FM’s “Kroyemusem” .

Mr. Jerry John Rawlings addressing cadres at the recently held commemoration of this year’s infamous June 4 annual celebration in Wa in the Upper West region, took a swipe at the party leadership accusing them of corruption revealing he nearly withdrew from the party he founded in 1992.

But responding to the allegations, Alhaji Mohammed Sani attacked Mr. Rawlings over claims of being sole founder of the party urging him to leave if he so wishes to.

“NDC is not an enterprise. …it is a limited liability company with its shares floated for every individual Ghanaian so you have gotten it wrong in saying he is a sole founder”.

“Every political party in Ghana which has no founding fathers in all the regions and districts cannot operate under our laws so to say Rawlings is the owner of NDC is wrong” he pointed it.
