Women urged to use loans judiciously

Tuobodom (B/A), April 21, GNA- Mrs. Janet Afriyie, NPP Women’s Organizer in Techiman North has advised women to use loans granted them judiciously.

She asked them not to use such monies to buy clothing to the detriment of their children’s education.

Mrs. Afriyie was addressing 300 women belonging to seven groups who were granted loans at Tuobodom in Brong Ahafo The 150 million cedis fund, under the auspices of Mrs. Gladys Asmah, Minister of Women and Children’s Affairs, is meant to support the groups in gari processing, trading, farming and other income generating activities.

Mrs. Afriyie said the Ministry decided to support them so that they could adequately provide for their children’s education. She asked the women to rally behind the NPP Government for the socio economic development of the country and help make the electioneering campaigns and the December elections peaceful.

Mrs. Afriyie commended Professor Christopher Ameyaw-Akumfi, Minister of Railways, Ports and Harbours and an aspiring Member of Parliament for Techiman North for his initiative towards the fund.
