A 17-year-old junior high school student, Elisabeth Opare, has stabbed her uncle to death for attempting to stop her from dating her boyfriend in Sefwi Ashiam in the Western Region.
The stabbing occurred as the JHS 2 girl struggled with her uncle who tried canning her over her sexual relationship with the boyfriend, Nana Yaw, who lives in a neighbouring town called Wasa Dwabo.
The teenage niece, according to reports from local radio stations, overpowered her uncle during the struggle and apparently sunk a sharp object into him.
The uncle was found in a puddle of blood by neighbours who heard his cries for help.
Elisabeth, also known as Awura Akua is being held in the custody of the Sefwi Bekwai District police command as investigations proceed. The uncle’s body has been deposited at the morgue.
