Floods displace residents in Tema

A heavy downpour in the evening of Monday, June 5 has resulted in flooding in some parts of the Greater Accra Region with Tema Community 18 severely affected.

Dozens of homes were filled with rainwater which rose to several feet high forcing residents to evacuate.

The extent of damage is not immediately known, but the Deputy National Coordinator of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) in charge of floods, Evans Anakwa, told Class News on Tuesday June 6 that logistics and other equipment were being moved to the location to pump water out of some homes.
