More than 400,000 candidates to begin BECE on Monday

This year’s Basic Education Certificate Examinations, BECE, will begin throughout the country on Monday.

In all, 468 thousand and 53 candidates from 15 thousand 185 schools are participating in the examination.

The P.R.O of the Ghana Education Service, Rev. Jonathan Bettey, says it is an offence for any head teacher to prevent any candidate from writing the examinations for non-payment of fees or for being pregnant in the case of female candidates.

Rev. Bettey told Bubu Klinogo that everything has been put in place to ensure a successful conduct of the examinations.
