BECE candidate dies at Dadieso

Janet Tutu, one of the candidates in this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), has died at Dadieso in the Sekyere Kumawu district of the Ashanti Region.

She died on Sunday June 4, a day to the start of the examination, according to the District Chief Executive for the area, Samuel Agyekum.

Mr Agyekum, in an interview with ClassFMonline.com on Monday June 5, indicated that the deceased complained of feverishness, however did not give full account of what might have caused her demise.

He said: “Yes it is true that one of the candidates for the BECE has died. The unfortunate incident occurred yesterday, Sunday.

“Because this happened in my district, I moved quickly to visit the family to console them on the loss of their loved one.”

The examination, which started at the various centres across the country today, is expected to end Friday June 9.
