Aspiring MP donates office and items to party

Kukurantumi (E/R), April 18, GNA – A US-based lecturer and an aspiring NPP parliamentary candidate for the newly-created Abuakwa North, Dr Samuel Kwadwo Amoako, has donated an office furnished with a computer and its accessories, photocopier, a fax machine and furniture to the party.

Other items included a printer, office stationery, a tape recorder, calculators, a wall clock and jumbo bottle of Tylenol pain-killer at a total cost of 25 million cedis.

Dr Amoako, who presented the items, the keys to the office and cash of three million cedis as seed money to the Eastern Regional chairman of the party, Nana Adi Ankamah at a ceremony at Kukurantumi on Saturday, also said he had already paid a year’s rent for the office. Receiving the donation, Nana Adi Ankamah commended him for the gesture, which he said, was much needed to establish the newly-created constituency.

He asked the executive members to take inspiration from the donation as foundation for them to build upon by working hard towards the party’s victory in the December elections.

According to him, the Okyeman was one of the NPP’s strongholds for which “we are sure of having already captured all the three seats at Abuakwa North, Abuakwa South and Atiwa.”

At the same ceremony, Dr Amoako also presented three wheel chairs, two walkers and eight walking sticks all valued at four million cedis to the New Tafo Government Hospital.

The East Akim District Chief Executive, Mr Emmanuel Asihene, who received the donation on behalf of the hospital thanked the donor for his gesture.
