Fire guts five bedroom-house at Abrepo in Ashanti Region

Fire has razed down a five bedroom building at Abrepo Highways, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region.

The fire which started around 10:00am on Saturday destroyed properties worth million of Ghana cedis including one Retxon vehicle with registration number AW_56_15.

It took firefighters several hours to douse the fire, no casualties were recorded.

An eyewitness speaking to Abusua Dawuro’s Osei Kwadwo said they suspect a lightning that struck the building during a heavy down pour.

However, speaking to the Bremang Divisional Fire Commander DO Benjamin Dowuna, he said his outfit cannot readily tell the cause of the fire, but will be known after their investigations.

The victims said their future hangs in the balance as their monies and properties have been lost in the inferno.

They called on philanthropists and government to come to their aid.
