Be responsible in opposition – NPP counsels NDC

A youth activist of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the in Ellembelle constituency of the Western Region, has advised the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to show signs of responsibility in their utterances in opposition.

Ishmael Avo Miezah who was contributing to a panel discussion on attempts by the leadership of the NDC to politicize the murder of Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama, condemned the utterances of the party’s scribe, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketia indicating that he should have known better.

He said capitalizing on the death of a soldier who was killed in line of duty to score cheap political points at a time the country is grieving smacks of signs of irresponsible opposition.

Mr. Johnson Aseidu Nketia at a press conference earlier this week, called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to resign in view of the fact he was superintending over a weak security system in the country which is why Captain Maxwell Mahama was lynched.

“This is very mischievous and unpatriotic from a party that is supposed to be a major opposition to the ruling NPP Government. I wonder who advises them and to come out with such press conferences. If you ask me, we are really doomed as a country because we don’t really have a worthy opposition to the government to help keep the government focused and on its toes in delivering its promises. Technology and political issues have fast advanced but the NDC keep dragging the entire country back to the gutters with their selfish and trivial political propaganda of lies and mischief,” he claimed.

“We are in a state of mourning over the loss of a soldier who has sworn to defend and protect the lives of we the people of this country and the nation as a whole with his life but who through the sheer wickedness, inhumane and barbarism of some entities who do not deserve to live lost his life in a tragic manner that I will never wish on even my enemies”

“I know there are some good people in the NDC with them and it is about time they start making their presence felt or else the current communications and activities of the party NDC would continually drag them to the ground come 2020 and beyond.”
