Captain Mahama’s death tragic; murderers won’t go free – Akufo-Addo

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has stated emphatically that persons involved in the dastardly murder of a captain of the Ghana Armed Forces on national duties on Monday morning would not be spared.

Captain Maxwell Adam Mahama was brutalised and burnt to death by a mob who claimed they mistook him for an armed robber when they saw him jogging with his pistol at Denkyira-Obuasi in the Central region.

“No one involved in his murder will go free,” President Akufo-Addo said in a tweet on Tuesday as he consoles the family of Captain Mahama “on their tragic loss”.

“I assure them that the perpetrators of this heinous crime will be arrested and dealt with in accordance with the laws of our country,” he promised.

Captain M.A Mahama of the 5th Infantry of the Ghana Armed Forces was the detachment commander of troops on operational duties in the general area. He died leaving behind a wife and two kids.
