Akufo-Addo forcing himself to fail – NDC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has said it has done everything possible within its power to prevent the Akufo Addo led-government from failing Ghanaians since it took over the reins of power on 7th January, 2017.

According to the General Secretary of the party, Koku Anyidoho, despite the NDC’s efforts to stop the NPP from failing, it appears the latter is bound to fail considering its poor showing in government so far, and will hand over power easily to the NDC in 2020 elections.

Speaking to the media on the sidelines of a programme organized by the UNDP at Elmina in the Central Region over the weekend where it enegaged with political parties, Koku Anyidoho however urged NDC supporters not to bank their hopes on the NPP’s failures but work hard for victory in 2020.

“Ours is to go back to our philosophy of social democracy, reach out to the grassroots, put in place our own policies, structure and own messages and get back to our people. Our people who didn’t vote, why didn’t they vote? they didn’t vote for the NPP but they didn’t vote for the NDC, let’s reach out to them.

He added: “As for the NPP and how they are failing it is going to become very legendary, he himself [President Akufo Addo] wants to fail, we’re even trying to prevent him from failing but he wants to fail and he’s busy failing. But’s it’s not Akufo Addo’s failure that will grant us victory. It is policy documents like this, a serious political party that will sit down, crack its brains and work, roll up our sleeves, dig our feet in and work. That’s what we’re doing.”
