Suspected cable thieves arrested at Kasoa

The Kasoa Divisional Police command has arrested three young men for allegedly stealing electric cables. The suspects were identified as Danjumah Mohammed 29, Ibrahim Aggrey 19 and Enoch Adam 22.

Narrating how the police effected the arrest of the three suspects, the Divisional Commander, ACP Dennis Abade said residents gave the police a tip-off that a taxi had loaded electricity cables which they suspected were stolen.

The police he noted traced the vehicle to a shop where the two occupants of the taxi were arrested together with the owner of the shop.

He said, after interrogation, the two occupants of the taxi with registration number GW 9613-14 confessed stealing the cables, from some poles.

The two had conveyed the cables to the shop so the owner could smelt and use them for cooking pot, the commander said.

The suspects he added will be arraigned before court on Monday.
