Christians blamed for moral decadence in society

Denase (Ash), April 11, GNA – The moral decadence in the country has been blamed on the inability of Christians to influence the society with the teachings and moral values in the Bible.

The Very Reverend Francis Andoh, Superintendent Minister in-charge of the Dunwell Methodist Church at Dichemso in Kumasi, said the Church, which had been designed to give moral training to its members, had failed to do so, instead, members engaged imoralility.

Very Rev Andoh was speaking during the presentation of a number of items totalling five million cedis and cash of one million cedis by the Youth fellowship of the Church to the ASHAN Development Centre and Orphanage at Denase in the Afigya-Sekyere district of Ashanti on Saturday. The items included a bag of sugar, five bags of rice, three boxes of Apino soap, a carton of key soap, two packets of Omo and confectionary. The Superintendent Minister called on the youth to direct their energies and resources towards profitable ventures and to refrain from acts that would negatively affect their welfare.

Mr Jim Konadu, the Director of the Orphanage, who received the items, expressed his gratitude to the Church for the donation and called on other organisations and philanthropists to donate towards the completion of a six-unit classroom block started by the Orphanage.
