Armed robbers attack Tatale township

Five suspected armed robbers allegedly stormed the Tatale township amid shooting of sophisticated guns, dispersed traders and looted their goods and money.

They succeeded in robbing almost ten persons who were engaged in currency exchange of their monies made up of Cedis, Dollars, CFA Franc and the Nigerian Naira.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on the incident, Mr Abdul Majeed Amadu, worker at the Tatale EP Senior High who witnessed what he termed as ‘a charade’ at around 16:00 hours said the young men, five in number got to the Central part of the Tatale township and started shooting the guns they possessed.

As a result, he said most people who were around took to their heels leaving their wares, which enabled them to pick up their money and phones.

He said they also broke into an MTN money transfer shop and took all the money and phones that were on charge.

He said after 15 minutes of shooting and looting, the robbers mounted on their motorbikes and sped off.

Mr Amadu said Police officers who arrived at the scene late had pursued them.
