Agona Bobikuma Presbyterian school turns death trap

Access to quality education in Ghana continues to be a dream for most of our young pupils in the hinterlands.

YEN’s attention has been drawn to a troubling situation at the Agona Bobikuma Presbyterian school in the Central region where pupils risk their lives just for the education they strife to have.

A visit to the school has shown that pupils do not only learn under the mercy of the weather but also sit in classrooms with huge cracks and tattered roofs.

Unfortunately, all efforts by the assemblyman of the area, Oduro Kyereboah and the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) to beg for help has proven futile.

“This is really affecting their academic work. They are appealing to the government and NGOs to come to their rescue before misfortune occur,” Kyereboah lamented in a letter to YEN.

The unfortunate crisis befallen the school is feared to have existed for the past 10 years as academic hours have always been interrupted whenever there is a downpour.
