Asantehene Orders Chief Distooled

The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu ll, has destooled Okofo Tabiri Agyei lll, Chief of Dompoase, near Akrokeri in the Adansi Traditional Area, for gross insubordination and misconduct.

The destoolment of Okofo Agyei was announced by Otumfuo at a meeting held by the Asanteman Council in Kumasi.

Okofo Agyei was said to have refused to appear before a committee set up by the Asantehene to go into a number of charges levelled against him by the people of Dompoase.

Otumfuo took the decision after Nana Ofori Agyeman ll, Adansihene, briefed the Asanteman Council in Kumasi on the conduct of Okofo Agyei.
