Public warned against Chocolim beverage with no expiry date

Kumasi, April 3, GNA – The Food and Drugs Board has warned the public not to keep away from ‘Chocolim’ beverage contained in 500g-sachet, which has no expiring date on the label. The Board said it noted that a pack of the beverage, which bears batch identification ‘GHROAAT’ with June 6 2003 and December 2003 as manufacture and expiry dates, respectively, is an expired product.

A statement issued in Kumasi on Friday by the Board said, in order to deceive the public, the information on the manufacture and expiry had been cleaned on the package and its price drastically reduced.

The Board urged the public to look out for the dates of expiry on all consumables they buy and shun expired products. The statement said the Board would welcome any information and assistance from the public on the sale or distribution of expired products.
