Driver who stabbed preacher to death arrested

Hassan Salifu, 24, a taxi driver who stabbed to death a popular radio preacher and spiritualist in the Sekondi/Takoradi Metropolis, Odeefo Nkwantabisa, has been arrested by the Kwesimintsim police.

He was nabbed at a spraying shop at Kansaworado when he attempted to change the colour of his Black and Yellow Gulf Taxi car with registration number GT 3781 T, to avoid being indentified and arrested.

The preacher died after a quarrel with the suspect at Race Course Junction, Appremdo at around 9pm on Monday, May 8, 2017.

The deceased, about 40 years, who heads a Church at Assakae was said to be driving a Benz Salon Car when he had an argument with the Taxi Driver over who had a right of way.

In the heat of the exchanges the deceased hit the Taxi driver who out of anger also reached for a knife from his car and stabbed the deceased on the chest.

He was soon after rushed to the Jemimah Hospital at Kwesimintsim where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The body is currently deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital Morgue for Autopsy.
