Adopt inter-sectoral approach for solutions, Mills

Accra (Greater Accra), 28 April, Vice President John Evans Atta Mills today suggested the adoption of an inter-sectoral approach towards finding solutions to health problems. Accordingly, he has directed the Ministry of Health to convene a meeting of all relevant agencies involved with health delivery to take a look at the collaborative effort idea, with the national Development Planning Commission as resource and support agency. Professor Mills, who gave the directive in a key-note address at the launching of The Health Sector Five-year programme of Work (5YPOW) in Accra said he will expect regular progress report from the meetings. The programme which is a medium-term health strategy (1997-2001) sets out the broad framework and policy directions for the development of the health sector and includes performance monitoring as well as evaluation. gri.
