Registration Round-off Kumasi

Registration centres in the Kumasi Metropolis saw slight increases in the number of voters registered on the last day compared to Sunday, visits by the GNA to a number of the centres revealed. There were no queues at most of the centres and the exercise was going on as normal. At the A-Life Temporary Booth, Ms Yvonne Appiah Nkansa, Registration Officer, told GNA that 36 eligible voters had registered as at 1600 hours compared to 23 who registered on Sunday.

At the TB Palm Avenue, Adum, Ms Menash Osei Konadu, Registration Officer, said 65 eligible voters had registered on Monday as at 1630 hours compared to 25 who registered on Sunday. At the Presbyterian Nursery Registration Centre, 21 persons had registered as at 1630 hours while the figure for Sunday stood at 31. Mr Nicholas Assam, Registration Officer for the Railway Police Registration Centre, said while 29 registered on Sunday the figure for Monday was 51.

All the registration officers were unanimous that there had been no rush for last minute registration and attributed it to the creation of additional centres, which made it easier for eligible voters to register near their areas of abode.
