Hamid visits Montie FM, Radio Gold

The Minister of Information, Mustapha Hamid, today, Friday, 5 May paid a working visit to the Network Broadcasting Group, operators of Radio Gold, Montie FM, TV Gold and a host of other media outlets.

Mr Hamid was accompanied by officials of the Information Ministry including his deputies and the Chief Director of the Ministry.

Radio Gold and Montie FM are key critics of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) which makes the visit historical.

Mr Hamid explained that the Nana Akufo-Addo government is committed to working with every media house in the country regardless of their political affiliation.

He noted that listeners of media houses perceived to be anti-government also have the right to access government information, and, therefore, assured the managers of Network Broadcasting Group not to hesitate to contact any Ministry, Department or Agency for information.

President Akufo-Addo’s spokesperson, however, admonished them against setting agenda to make the government unpopular through false reportage but to stick to the ethics of journalism.
