Nfantseman in Ashanti Region gets new Chief

Kumasi, March 28, GNA – Nana Arkorful Owese II, the new Nfantsemanhen in Ashanti, has been introduced to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene and the Kumasi Traditional Council at Manhyia. With his introduction and acceptance, Nana Owese joins the Nifa Division of the Kumasi Traditional Council to represent the Nfantse Community in Ashanti.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu urged chiefs and opinion leaders to devote much of their time to the development of the communities in which they lived paying particular attention to their health and educational needs. He observed that Ashantis and Fantes were peace-loving people, who had been interrelated socially and culturally and had intermarried. The Asantehene commended the founding fathers of the Nfantseman Community in Ashanti for their immense contribution to Asanteman and urged the new chief to live up to expectation.

Nana Owese, 49, known in private life, as Mr John Kennedy Arkorful is the Area Manager of K. DOM LIMITED in Kumasi. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency at his residence, Nana Owese expressed his appreciation to the Nfantseman Council in Ashanti for the honour done him and pledged to live up to expectation. He mentioned education and health as his top priority and promised to support the war against HIV/AIDS.
