Miners to hold meeting in Kumasi

INTERIM leadership of Ashanti Regional Chapter of National Executive of the Ghana National Association of Small Scale Miners is set to hold a crunch meeting with all small scale miners in Kumasi on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

A statement signed and issued by leaders of the Association including Mike Gizo and Kwabena Boakye, and copied to Today in Accra on Saturday, April 22, 2017 noted that the meeting, which will be held at the Public Service Conference Hall at the Trades Union Congress (TUC) will discuss and address pertinent issues to influence decisions ahead of the ministerial meeting.

According to the statement, the meeting will also serve as a platform for deliberations towards the rekindle and structuring of the regional association as a way of forging ahead in unity.

It noted that the Ashanti Regional Association which has acquired a new secretariat is expected to get inputs of every member to formulate an action plan in its efforts to sensitise the public on small scale mining.

The statement pointed out that the meeting will again nominate competent personnel to steer affairs of the association, hence the need to invite members.

The statement therefore, urged all members as, a matter of urgency, to treat this information with all the attention it deserves.
