President Kufuor leaves for Cote d’Ivoire

Accra, March 24, GNA – President John Agyekum Kufuor left Accra on Wednesday for a day’s official trip to Cote d’Ivoire to hold discussions with factions in that country’s conflict.

Mr Kwamena Bartels, Minister for Private Sector Development, accompanied him.

In a pre-departure interview with Journalists Presidential Spokesperson, Mr Kwabena Agyepong said a few creases have developed in the implementation of the Accra/Macoussis Peace Accord brokered by France and the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and President Kufuor, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS, would attempt to iron them out.

He said President Kufuor would hold discussions with the various factions in order to move the peace process in that country forward.
