Police arrest photographer for taking pictures of prisoners

New Edubiase (Ash), March 21, GNA – The New Edubiase police last week arrested a 50-year-old photographer for unlawfully taking pictures of prisoners working on a KVIP at New Edubiase.

Briefing the Ghana News Agency on the arrest, Detective Corporal Francis Awuah of the New Edubiase police said at about 11 am on that day, a group of prisoners were brought from the Adansi-Ahinsan Prison Camp to work on the KVIP.

He said while working the prison officers spotted James Aboagye, the photographer, hiding in a nearby bush and taking pictures of the prisoners.

Detective Corporal Awuah said the prison officers who became suspicious went to Aboagye and demanded his identity and why he was taking the pictures.

Aboagye, he said, told the prison officers that he was a staff of the Adansi East district assembly but that upon intense interrogation, they realised that his claim was false and so they arrested and sent him to the New Edubiase police station.

Corporal Awuah said the photographer’s action was unlawful and would he be arraigned before court soon.
