NPP women’s wing to lead the campaign for party’s success at polls

Ampabame (Ash), March 19, GNA – Six hundred and twenty-seven members of the women’s wing of the Atwima-Kwanwoma Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have pledged to lead the campaign for the success of President John Agyekum Kufuor and the party in Election 2004. Speaking at the first anniversary celebration of the Wing at Ampabame-Krofofrom on Thursday, the women said they took the decision to retain President Kufuor to enable him to continue with the good work he had started.

They said, so far, 15 branches of the Women’s wing had been formed in the various communities of the constituency.

Mr Yaw Yeboah, the Constituency Chairman of the NPP, underscored the importance of women in the organisation of the Party and said they were better campaigners since they could carry their campaign messages everywhere including marketplaces and even as they went to fetch water from streams.

He, therefore, urged the women to strive hard to market the Party in every nook and corner of the constituency and asked them to wholeheartedly welcome any woman who would defect from the other political parties to join the NPP.

Mr Yeboah cautioned them against being lured to the other parties by money and said they should resist all such temptations.
