Mahama urges kinsmen to take advantage of opportunities created by NPP government

Former President John Dramani Mahama has admonished his kinsmen to take advantage of opportunities the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government will create and leverage on for development.

He however stated that this can only be done if Gonjas continue to remain united and peacefully coexist before they will be able to tap into the opportunities the NPP government will create in the next four years.

Addressing Gonjalanders at the 41st annual Gonjaland Youth Congress at Sawla in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district where he attended as a member of the association he said “let us all as Gonjalanders be united and take advantage of opportunities the NPP government will create in the next four years to inure to our benefit even as the NPP government prepares to start a process in the creation of new regions out of the existing ones”.

The former president also cautioned the youth against joining groups that will mare the peace in Gonjaland. “Gonjas have always coexisted with their neighbours peacefully so I urge us all to continue with this enviable lifestyle that always differentiates us from other people” he added.

Mr Mahama thanked the entire Gonjaland for maintaining law and order in the country before, during and after elections 2016 indicating God is the maker of a Kings and man cannot question his ways. “Let’s not allow politics to separate us as a people”.

He later made a cash donation of GHC10,000 to the national executives of the association.
