Bishop urges Ghanaians to celebrate Easter with reflection

Bishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng, Head Pastor of Divine Word International Ministries has urged Ghanaians to eschew acts that will defeat the true meaning of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and the celebration of Easter.

He said contrary to the norm of engaging in needless celebrations during the period, Christians ought to rather observe the sacrifice made by Christ as exemplary and worthy of emulation.

Bishop Adonteng Boateng in an interview with the Ghana News Agency noted that the celebration of the Easter festivities should be modest, and provide opportunities for Christians to reflect on what the Cross of Christ represented.

The Head Pastor explained that Ghanaians must adhere to the significance for which Jesus died and resurrected for the sake of all, the humiliation he endured just to rescue humanity from the claws of sin.

He said Easter was not for violence, fornication and engaging in all sort of social vices and as such, the youth who will be celebrating the festive occasion should not engage themselves in any immoral acts and remember that their body was the temple of God.

Bishop Adonteng Boateng also noted both commercial and private motorists should desist from taking in alcohol as they embarked on their journey to their various destinations.

He urged them to stick to the rules, and display tolerance and courtesy towards fellow road users.

Bishop Adonteng Boateng, on behalf of Divine Word international Ministries in the United States of America, wished Ghanaians a wonderful Easter celebration reminding revelers that “Jesus is the reason” for the occasion.
