Kwabena Agyepong fit to be minister – Mustapha Hamid

The Information Minister Mustapha Hamid has said the suspended general secretary of the New Patriotic Party Kwabena Agyepong will do well as a minister, if appointed by President Akufo-Addo.

Speaking on Starr Chat Wednesday, Hamid told host Bola Ray that Mr. Agyepong is principled and assertive, adding he would like to see him back in the party.

Explaining why he prefers Agyepong instead of Mr. Sammy Crabbe in government, the Information Minister said “Kwabena Agyepong is the one that I have known closely…he is assertive, he is confident, he speaks well and he speaks his mind.”

Mr. Agyepong together with NPP national chairman Paul Afoko and first vice chairman Paul Afoko were suspended in November 2012 by the National Executive Committee of the NPP for some acts of indiscipline.

Despite calls by some members of the party to recall the trio, they remained on suspension and played no active role in the party’s victory in the December 2016 elections.

John Boadu has been acting as the party’s general since Mr. Agyepong was suspended in 2015.
