No new murder at Agbogbloshie – Police

The Ghana Police Service has indicated that peace has returned to Agblogbloshie and rumours of another murder on Friday April 14 are false.

“Rumours on social media to the effect that someone was killed at Nzema or Oil market at Agbogbloshie yesterday Friday 14th April is false,” the law enforcement body announced on Saturday, April 15.

The police indicated that the public is entreated to disregard the information.

Meanwhile, they have promised “to provide security at Agbogbloshie and its environs”.

This was contained in a message on the official Facebook page of the Ghana police.

It would be recalled that renewed clashes at Agbogbloshie between Dagombas and Konkombas on Tuesday resulted in two deaths with several injured. Over 30 persons were displaced.

A total of five persons have been arrested and locally manufactured weapons were retrieved from some of the suspects.
