Easter outside Kwahu for the Ghanaian

Celebrated the world over by Christians, the Easter season, comes with lots of festivities to mark the death and resurrection of the savior, Christ Jesus.

Here in Ghana, conventions, crusades, family gatherings and most outstandingly, paragliding in the Eastern part of the country, Kwahu, is one sure way people mark the occasion.

This year’s celebrations are no different. Many Ghanaians are already making trips to various parts of the country to meet family and friends as they gear up for the season.

Today being Good Friday, the start of the celebrations had lots of activities rolling out. Whilst most churches organized services in the early part of the day, many others went paragliding with family and friends at Kwahu.

Most people have argued over the focus of Easter in the Eastern Region. Some say the setting does not determine how much fun one should have whilst others opine that Easter is all about revering Christ rather than having fun.

GhanaWeb set out to find out from people in the capital city what the mood was like for them on the first day of the three-day-long period.
