Tema, March 18, GNA – A United States-based Non-Governmental Organisation, “Join and Friends wheels for the world”, has distributed free disabled relief to the disabled within the Tema Municipality and Dangme East District.
The equipment consists of 200 wheelchairs, 50 walkers, 20 crutches and 10 canes.
The organisation has so far given out 5,000 wheelchairs to the disabled nationwide in the past 10 years, Reverend Allan Patsy Fulton, a member of the organisation, told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday. Rev. Allan said the organisation was relying on traditional rulers, churches and assembly members in the distribution of the items.
The NGO was also organising workshop for the disabled beneficiaries on the use of the equipment.
