Delta Force ’13’ granted bail

A Kumasi High Court presided by justice Obiri Yeboah has granted bail to the 13 members of the notorious Delta Force standing trial for raiding the office of the Ashanti regional security coordinator.

The 13 who were on trial for rioting, assaulting a public officer and conspiracy to commit crime on Friday March 24, 2017 stormed the Ashanti regional coordinating Council to stop president Akufo-Addo’s appointee, George Adjei, as the region’s security coordinator from performing his duties.

According to them, they cannot work with him because he was not a native of the region.

Each of the 13 is expected to satisfy a bail bond of GHS10,000 with two sureties each to be justified. They are also to submit their valid ID cards and report to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service each week.

In a related development, the same 13, were on Tuesday fined an amount of GHc2400 for escaping lawful custody.

Additionally, they have been made to sign a bond of good behavior for six months failure for which will attract a 3-year jail term.
