Sierra Leone presidents arrives for ECOWAS Summit

Accra, March 18, GNA – The President of Sierra Leone Ahmed Tidjan Kabbah arrived in Accra on Thursday evening to participate in the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Heads of State and Government Summit that opens in Accra on Saturday.

Dr Mohammed Ibn Chambas, Executive Secretary of ECOWAS, and some Ministers of State met him on arrival.

The Sierra Leader inspected a guard of honour mounted by a detachment of the Ghana Navy made up of four officers and 96 six men under the command of Lt Qyano Rammond.

The Summit, to be attended by 14 Heads of States and Government, would focus on the challenges of regional integration and the New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD) implementation in West Africa.

The World Bank President, Mr James Wolfenson would also attend the Summit.
