Badu Boycotts Registration Exercise

The Brong Ahafo regional director of the electoral commission Mr Amadu Sule has sought the assistance of the Brong Ahafo police commander to intervene in an impasse in which the chiefs and elders of Badu have banned eligible in the town from registering.

The chief supported by a group of disgruntled people at Badu near Nsawkaw also prevented the voter?s registration officials from carrying out the registration exercise in the area.

They contended that their town was deliberately left out in the naming of district capitals.

They have vowed not to allow any eligible voter to register in the town.

The incident has been confirmed by the DCE for Wenchi, Hon Joe Dankwah who says a meeting is being arranged between the district security committee (DISEC) and opinion leaders of the town to have the issue resolved amicably.
