Akufo-Addo’s first 90 days: I’ll score him 70% – Osae

Dean of Graduate Studies of the Institute of Local Government Studies, Dr Eric Oduro Osae, has said he will give President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo 70 per cent for his performance in his first 90 days in office.

According to him, after his investiture on January 7, Mr Akufo-Addo has achieved a lot of firsts, notably successfully separating party from government.

In an interview with Emefa Apawu on the 505 programme on Class91.3FM on April 10, Mr Osae said: “I think I will give him 70 per cent because of the absence of the MMDCEs.

If he had appointed the MMDCEs as at today, then the factors would have been almost complete and he would have scored above 80 per cent. But because of the absence of the MMDCEs, I think I will give him 70 per cent and let us see what happens up until the 100 days.

“He has been able to separate activities of the political party from the government – that is what we need because if you are able to separate it like that then you will have the case and the courage to perform your governance functions.

I am hoping that he will sustain the record and then make sure that activities of governance is separated from activities or the business of the political party, the NPP.”
