Asokwa sub-metro office of EC trains registration officers

Kumasi, March 14, GNA – Mr Samuel Owusu Afriyie, a Senior Electoral Officer of the Asokwa sub-metro office of the Electoral Commission (EC), has called on eligible Ghanaians not only to strive to register when the exercise takes off this week but also to ensure that they have their pictures taken.

He said the pictures were very important since without them it would be impossible for them to exercise their franchise during elections.

Mr Afriyie gave the advice at a training workshop organised by the Asokwa sub-metro EC for 98 registration officers at Oforikrom in Kumasi. He announced that already the Asokwa sub-metro office of EC had trained 828 registration officers in readiness for the exercise. He advised registration officials not to insist on birth certificates from eligible voters before registering them unless they were in doubt.
