Empower agency to arrest rickety vehicles – Amedekanya

Winneba (Central Region), 23 April, An officer of the Vehicle Examination and Licensing Division (veld) of the ministry of roads and transport, has called on the government to empower the division to impound non-roadworthy vehicles. Mr. William Amedekanya, Winneba district vehicle examiner and licensing officer, said though the division has the power to issue orders for prohibition of rickety vehicles off the roads, such orders are often not carried by the law enforcing agents.
