Unit Committees must be motivated to give of their best

Ayomso (B/A), March 12, GNA- A traditional ruler in Brong Ahafo has called on the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to motivate unit committees with incentives to enable them to play their role effectively.

Nana Appiah Kubi, chief of Ayomso in Asunafo District was addressing a durbar of chiefs and people of the town at a forum organized by the Brong-Ahafo Regional Office of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE) to educate the community on the forthcoming general election.

The theme for the programme was, “Local Government System – The Role of the Citizenry”.

The chief said since governance was operated from the grassroots there was the need for the government to provide incentives and materials for stakeholders to effectively contribute their quota.
