Kofi Boakye wasting away as Director of Research and Planning – Zuba

The immediate past Ashanti Regional Police Commander COP Nathan Kofi Boakye is wasting away as current Director of Research and Planning at the police headquarters a former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Mr. Akwasi Ofori Agyemang Boadi has observed.

He believes there is an urgent need for the ‘tough’ police chief to be reassigned and given a more challenging portfolio that can nib criminal activities in the bud.

“If I have my own way I will make COP Nathan Kofi Boakye the director of police operations and I will ask him to go to every region every month and spend one month there to make sure the standard he brought into policing in the Ashanti region is spread across the country” the former MCE wished.

Ofori Ageyman Boadi, popularly called Zuba also had a word of advice for the new Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Ken Yeboah who succeeded COP Kofi Boakye in the region.

“I have word of advice for him. He has taken over the police administration from a disciplinarian like COP Kofi Boakye and you do not have to give us this…You arrest suspects who assaulted a regional security coordinator and have still not put before any law. What kind of policing is this “he asked on Ultimate Fm.

“After four hours of their arrest, you give them bail and continue to do perpetual investigation into the whole matter. Call out and find out they will tell you we are investigating”

“We are watching how police administration in the region will put the assault of Mr. George Agyei by Delta Force members in shape as they are discharging their duty.”

“In terms of discipline of personnel…in terms of true accountability of the processes of the law and last transparency of the police administration in the Ashanti Region COP Kofi Boakye did marvelously well”

Of late the Ashanti Regional Police Command has received criticism from the public over the manner the command is handling members of Delta Force.
