UEW SRC President, 4 others arrested

Organisers of the SRC week celebration at the University of Education, Winneba have been arrested for breaching the public order act.

The five, including the SRC President of the university Jarvis Koufie, are accused of flouting rules which led to the destruction of university properties after students charged on them over a poor performance by a guest artist invited for the SRC week celebration

The irate students in the process destroyed speakers, furniture and other items at the Prof. Anamoah Mensah auditorium.

The suspects, according to the Winneba police commander, SP Godfred Tetteh Agyirako will be made to assist the police unravel the mystery surrounding the attack which occurred over the weekend .

The deputy registrar of the university in charge of Publicity and Communication, has confirmed the arrest to Starr News.
