Food poisoning: Three students feared dead at Kumasi Academy SHS

Over 200 worried parents stormed the Kumasi Academy Senior High School Friday night after their wards called them about a food poisoning incident at the school.

Students of the school reportedly demonstrated at the school demanding answers to the alleged death of three of the colleagues within the last ten days.

The students, according to sources, died at home after falling sick at school. They were said to have complained of a similar situation – food poisoning.

The agitation was, however, triggered after another student complained of a massive stomach ache on Friday.

Ten other students of the school are reportedly receiving treatment at the Garden City and Manhyia hospital for alleged food poisoning.
The irate students vandalized their school buses and other school properties in the process and attempted to attack the assistant head teacher of the school.

It took a combined team of Police personnel from the Asokore Mampong division and Manhyia to restore calm.

The parents who were called in by their wards were not allowed to enter the premises by the school authorities as a result of the chaos that was taking place there.

The management of the school is yet to officially comment on the incident.
Meanwhile, the Police have told Starr News investigations have begun into the incident.
