Invincible forces besiege RCC over new coordinator in the Ashanti Region

Work has been halted as one of the vigilante groups of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Invincible Forces have besieged the office of the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) in Kumasi.

The ‘machomen’ are protesting against the transfer of a Coordinator from the Eastern Region to the region.

They argued that they prefer a party member who is a native of the region and not a ‘stranger’.

The group have threatened not to disperse the RCC until the new Coordinator is booted out of office.

The new Coordinator has been taken to the police station to prevent any untoward.

There is currently heavy security presence at RCC.
