3 school children drown in construction pond in the Brong Ahafo Region

Three Kindergarten kids of the Ahotor D/A Primary school have reportedly drowned in a pond used for local construction at Ahotor, a Konkomba settlement near Atebubu on the Atebubu- Yeji road in the Atebubu-Amanten District of the Brong Ahafo region.

According to a staff of the school, the children including 3 boys and a girl refused to attend school on Wednesday morning and decided to go for a swim in the pond after a heavy downpour the previous night.

Luck reportedly eluded them when the 3 boys dived into the pond but were unable to swim in view of its depth.

The fourth person who was the girl rushed home to report the incident but by the time a rescue team could arrive the three had died

Their bodies have since been deposited at a health facility in the area while police have commenced investigations into the incident.
