DCE presents relief items to victims of disasters

Hohoe, Mar. 4, GNA- The Hohoe District Chief Executive, Mr James Komla Dogbe has presented relief items worth 101 million cedis to victims of disasters in the district.

The items included 64 packets of roofing sheets, a quantity of mattresses and bags of rice.

Addressing the victims, Mr Dogbe said most of the disasters were not preventable but some of them could have been avoided.

He asked management of the affected schools to plant trees on their compounds to serve as wind breaks and advised them to employ competent personnel to construct projects.

Mr Ben Asimenu, the Hohoe District Co-ordinator of National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) sympathised with the victims and noted that though they could not satisfy all their demands, they should take the little given them.

The items were bought with part of the District Assembly’s share of the common fund.
